The mission of Radiant Theatre Productions is to perform old plays in new ways! We strive to bring the audience happiness in surprising ways; to bring the wonderment and amazingness of the heavens to earth in a sacred theatre space; to exude confidence by displaying frailty; to bring and share the love which is so abundant and yet sometimes hidden or forgotten in today's world by putting on theatrical performances and teaching theatre.

We plan to provide the community with:
  • acting and mask classes for self-esteem and collaboration through theatre
  • acting opportunities for minorities and differently-abled communities
  • performances for low-income families
  • an outlet for the plethora of talent in Portland
  • innovative new plays, old classics, children’s puppet shows and musicals

Last year Radiant Theatre birthed into existence by producing the medieval morality play, Everyman in which we gave the audience the experience of their lives by getting them up on stage one by one and playing the title role-facing death and pondering and working at how to avoid it. Since then we have done the critically acclaimed 1968 Tribal Rock Musical HAiR (called “deliciously infectious” by The Oregonian), Sam Beckett’s Waiting For Godot, a number of clown shows and Emergence: Portland’s First Annual Women Playwrights Festival in which we featured six plays by Portland women never before seen in public before. Future shows include Hamlet, Jesus Christ Superstar and new works of physical theatre which comment on current world issues.

We have the vision to direct amazing theatre--to embrace the audience and the players into one--to have everyone come out of their experience more whole and better people. We want theatre to affect people. This is why we do it. Our estimated budget on our current show is $10,000 and we're already over halfway there. We are now seeking tax-deductible donations to Radiant Theatre Productions to pay for renting theatre space in Portland. From $1 to $1,000, every penny is valuable, so anything you would be willing to donate for the cause would be wonderful. Checks can be made out to Radiant Theatre Productions and sent to 6629 SE Rhone St., Portland, OR 97206. Thank you so much!
