Mission:
Radiant Theatre's mission is to do old plays in new ways and to provide new plays about oppressed peoples around the world. We wish to illuminate the audience with shining performances and open minds to our inter-connectedness with one another. With physical theatre and luminescent style we spread the warmth of love to everyone involved. As theatre is a sacred ritual to us, we will spread our glow outward beyond our primary audience: the greater Portland, Oregon community.

Note from the Artistic Director: I am taking a couple of years off to raise my children full time, so Radiant Theatre will be working only in an advisory capacity until 2009. We will be accepting submissions for Our 5th Annual Women's Playwright Festival until March 2009 for summer performances that same year.
EMERGENCE 2009
Our 5th Annual Celebration of Women
Radiant Theatre is seeking submissions for our 5th Annual Celebration of Women--Emergence 2008. We want plays written by woman playwrights of any age. The plays must have good women's parts and be empowering to women in some way. We are also seeking women directors and volunteers of any gender.
Playwrights must be living in Oregon or Washington.
Plays are not limited to any length.
Plays must not have been publicly performed before.
Plays can be returned if playwrights provide a SASE and enough postage with their submission. Otherwise, RTP will retain them for future use...always with playwrights permission.
The submitted play (if chosen) will be the one performed unless the director asks the playwright to make revisions. The playwright will be required to, once their play is chosen, provide enough copies for a reading. Rehearsals may be open to the playwright, and the playwright is invited to the performance of the show.

Performances will be in July 2009, venue TBA.
Plays will be staged readings, reader's theatre style or memorized, depending on director.
